Putting this together was actually rather depressing… another reminder of how little art I’ve actually completed this year, and that there’s only about a handful of pieces that I actually like (I did sketch a fair amount, but not nearly as much as I would have liked.) I am so over this whole school thing*, and ready to have a life beyond papers and projects-that-do-not-involve-drawing. One more semester.
I’m not going to say I hope 2013 will be better - I’m going to say it WILL be better, and I’m going to make sure of it.
*Admittedly, I am hoping to return to school eventually, but it’ll be for something completely drawing-related.

Hello friends, friendly followers, and other denizens of tumblr!

I’m sure you have all seen these reblog contests before, and this one really isn’t anything new. I run a small business making and selling handmade books to be used as journals or sketchbooks or just to sit on your bookshelf being pretty. So far it has just been a side hobby, but I’m about to graduate from college in a few weeks and am hoping to expand this into a full-time job.

At this point, I can’t afford to pay for advertising and still sell my books at the prices I want. I want them to be affordable for people like me (college students on a budget) but at the current quantities I’m making, I can’t afford to raise my costs without raising the price as well.

So that is where you come in. I’m relying on you, my lovely followers and fellow book-lovers of tumblr, to help spread the word so I can keep making books! And while I can’t afford to pay you directly for hitting the reblog button, I can offer you an incentive: the chance to win a handmade book delivered right to your door for Christmas! And if Christmas isn’t your thing, then just for being awesome!

AND, so that your chances don’t diminish when you repost this, the number of books I give away will increase the more people reblog this! So spread it as much as possible without fear that your followers will steal the book that should have been yours! For every ten people that reblog this, I will give away one book — that means you have a ten percent chance of getting a free book just by hitting reblog!

You don’t need to follow me or anything (although it would be great if you did!) in order to win; anyone who has reblogged this post by December 18th will be entered and the winners randomly drawn.

Thank you, and good luck!

tl;dr reblog for free books!

Hey guys I know some of you have books coming already, but I’m doing one of those annoying reblog contests for my bookbinding blog and if you could spread the word that would be great!

I don’t normally reblog giveaway posts because I try to keep my tumblr primarily for my drawings (ok, I’m not actually that great at sticking to that goal), but these are GORGEOUS.

While I’ve been a bit wary of Supernatural season eight thus far (it’s felt weirdly anticlimactic, I guess?), this line makes me ridiculously happy, and I can’t wait to see what shenanigans it brings.Back before I first started watching Supernatural, I knew precious little about it. Pre-tumblr, I knew it was some sort of horror/suspense type show with two model-esque dudes toting guns. After joining tumblr, I found out a bit more - primarily that people had a lot of feels for brothers Dean and Sam and their quirky angel buddy, Castiel. So I decided to give the show a try, despite not being a fan of the gory horror genre. I knew Cas wouldn’t be showing up until season four, but somehow I ended up under the impression that once he did show up, he’d be bumming around with the brothers, chilling in the backseat of the Impala, and solving supernatural cases. So when that didn’t exactly happen, I was a bit disappointed (but not much, because WHOA APOCALYPSE YEAH.) There was a brief period during season six where it almost felt like they were just going around, being bros and hunting monsters, but that clearly didn’t last long.It appears that season eight may finally be granting my wish :D
*edit* updated the file ‘cuz I realized I forgot to crop it properly. That’s what I get for posting when I’m exhausted :P

Just a head’s up to any interested parties, this is the software I use to do all my inking and if you subscribe to the SmithMicro mailing list you can run away with the full version for $30 on Friday, as opposed to the standard $300.

That is such a great deal! Manga Studio is great for digital inking. It is what I use too. I paid way more than thirty dollars and I don’t regret it at all but man! Thirty dollars!

I’ve been wanting to snag a copy of this for a while now! Fantastic deal! THANKS ANTHONY

This is the program I do almost all of my digital inking with - it’s amazing! Totally worth snagging, especially at this awesome sale price :D

Bit of OC art created to submit to my school’s annual juried student art show. Possible scene from a comic that currently only exists in my head and on a few pieces of scrap paper, but I’d like to get it together someday. (It’ll be awhile, though, as these two have a lot to go through before they get to this particular adventure.)This is definitely the most ambitious (and terrifying) attempt I’ve made at brush inking (11x17!), but I had a blast and will definitely be doing something like this again.

Sooooo I totally thought I was actually going to have time for recreational drawing (in other words, fan art) this semester… HA. You’d think after three years of this college thing I wouldn’t be so naive. Being a double major with three jobs and occasional freelance projects doesn’t exactly leave much free time.I’ve been drawing lots, but 99.5% of that drawing has been somehow related to school, work, or both. So I figured I’d reblog this from my other tumblr just to say hey! I’m not dead! Yet! (School may yet do me in on lack of sleep alone.)

Tell me I’m not the only one who had this thought?

No new art at the moment (soon, very soon! I’m just juggling a ridiculous number of projects right now. As usual.) but I just got this and I am all asdjflksdljs;lsjeeeeeee :D
I’m actually pretty new to the X-Men (thank you, Avengers, for properly introducing me to the amazing world of Marvel!) - I’ve been aware of them pretty much forever, of course, but didn’t start watching the cartoons/movies and reading the comics till recently. And now that I am watching the cartoons, I’m wondering why the heck they weren’t a part of my childhood. I definitely missed out.
Anywho, I’ve never owned a maquette before and Cyclops was one of my favorites in X-Men: Evolution, so I’m pretty thrilled to have this in my possession :D

I might not get any, but it’s a fun thought

I’MMA TRY

I know I’ve still got several drawing memes/prompts to catch up on, but I kind of collect ‘em to save for when I’ve got downtime/artblock, so. Yeah. Hit me!
