Now that I’m a semi-jobless college grad with time on my hands (sort of), I can actually take a little time off from my numerous to-do lists and draw for fun! Whoo! With none of that “I should be working on homework instead” guilt!* So expect a lot more frequent posting, both here and at horizon-bound :D
Anywho, Anna Torv is my dream-casting for Sue Storm - I would be ecstatic if for the remake Fox cast her and brought back Ioan Gruffudd as Reed (and gave the actors a decent script and story to work with, *cough*.) That’s never gonna happen, though, but I can at least have fun drawing it.
*Sort of. I’m taking some online art courses this summer so I’ve got homework for those, but good homework. Not the kind that makes me want to set fire to my textbooks.

The only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream.My fifth and final senior show piece, and probably my favorite - a piece three years in the making (kind of.) Based on a doodle I did spring of freshman year during my American Lit class, which I initially scribbled whilst we discussed Wallace Stevens’ “The Emperor of Ice Cream.” I’d been meaning to do a full illustration ever since, and the show seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Print is available in my Society6 shop, and that free shipping promotion is still going on till midnight PST tonight!

Fourth piece - a collage of my favorite sketches (since sketching is primarily what I do) from over the last four years. It was quite the trip down memory lane putting this together!

At the show reception last night my sister spotted a couple of girls having fun searching for all the different Doctors in here - makes me want to draw even more :D (That and the fact that I’ve actually been enjoying the new episodes quite a bit!)

One of my pieces from my class’s senior show, and also part of my ongoing project in my advanced digital studio course - character designs for a hypothetical animated film (or perhaps tv show.) I sadly haven’t really had a chance to start nailing down any sort of concrete plot due to juggling projects for all of my other courses (seriously, double majoring and gen eds are a pain. Hopefully worth it in the end, but a pain nonetheless.) If I do manage to work out a plot I like, I may eventually try to adapt it into a comic. We’ll see!
Prints are available in my Society6 shop! (<-there is a free shipping promo through this link through the 14th)

I’m going to be reblogging my senior show pieces over the next few days to liven this place up a bit. Can’t wait to get back to working on some fanart once graduation is done and over - I’ve been aching to draw oodles of it but right now the time needed is nonexistent :(

Been in a headlong dash for the last week trying to put stuff together for my senior show (reeeeally excited with how things are turning out, but deadlines loom! Ack!), but I decided to take a few minutes to throw some color under a Mike doodle I did a few months back. Love this show so much, and still furious that Disney canceled it. Argh.

I feel bad for pretty much falling off the face of tumblr, but senior year’ll do that to a person D: My days are pretty much spent in a constant state of panic over homework, work, job hunting, senior projects, pointless papers, and everything else under the sun. I keep wanting to kick back and relax for a bit and work on a bit of art purely for the fun of it, but it’s just not happening right now :(But in the meantime, here’s a peek at a piece that’s been sitting in my WIP folder since October… maybe I’ll steal a few hours from schoolwork over spring break to finish it up.

Been sorting through my WIP folder so it’s not quite such a mess come 2013, and I stumbled across some little Avengers portraits I started and forgot about last summer. I’m not going to finish them (too many other things to do!), but I thought I’d toss up what I had sketched so far.

Putting this together was actually rather depressing… another reminder of how little art I’ve actually completed this year, and that there’s only about a handful of pieces that I actually like (I did sketch a fair amount, but not nearly as much as I would have liked.) I am so over this whole school thing*, and ready to have a life beyond papers and projects-that-do-not-involve-drawing. One more semester.
I’m not going to say I hope 2013 will be better - I’m going to say it WILL be better, and I’m going to make sure of it.
*Admittedly, I am hoping to return to school eventually, but it’ll be for something completely drawing-related.

While I’ve been a bit wary of Supernatural season eight thus far (it’s felt weirdly anticlimactic, I guess?), this line makes me ridiculously happy, and I can’t wait to see what shenanigans it brings.Back before I first started watching Supernatural, I knew precious little about it. Pre-tumblr, I knew it was some sort of horror/suspense type show with two model-esque dudes toting guns. After joining tumblr, I found out a bit more - primarily that people had a lot of feels for brothers Dean and Sam and their quirky angel buddy, Castiel. So I decided to give the show a try, despite not being a fan of the gory horror genre. I knew Cas wouldn’t be showing up until season four, but somehow I ended up under the impression that once he did show up, he’d be bumming around with the brothers, chilling in the backseat of the Impala, and solving supernatural cases. So when that didn’t exactly happen, I was a bit disappointed (but not much, because WHOA APOCALYPSE YEAH.) There was a brief period during season six where it almost felt like they were just going around, being bros and hunting monsters, but that clearly didn’t last long.It appears that season eight may finally be granting my wish :D
*edit* updated the file ‘cuz I realized I forgot to crop it properly. That’s what I get for posting when I’m exhausted :P
