Much of my so-called ‘free’ time this summer has been spent mowing lawns in sweltering heat and humidity and bent over a computer screen in a cold office or basement working on freelance projects in order to save for an iPad (with my main wages going towards tuition, whee.) I was finally able to order it last week, along with a Bamboo stylus (which I painfully paid more for in order to get it right away rather than wait for Wacom to restock… it was worth it, though.)
Inspired by Hithah’s recent postings regarding Ten II (or as I prefer, ‘Handy’), I decided to make him the subject of my first iPad drawing. Drawing on it is going to take some getting used to, but I’m having a blast already :D
(Verdict on the iPad as a whole: I love it. It’s going to make my backpack a heckuva lot lighter, for one thing. It does have a certain feeling of primitiveness as I try to use normal computer functions only to realize they’re not there, and as fun as drawing on it is, the iPad’s abilities in that department leave a lot to be desired. But these are the early days of the tablet, and I’m excited to see where the technology will go!)
