Sonic Scribblings

While I’ve been a bit wary of Supernatural season eight thus far (it’s felt weirdly anticlimactic, I guess?), this line makes me ridiculously happy, and I can’t wait to see what shenanigans it brings.

Back before I first started watching Supernatural, I knew precious little about it. Pre-tumblr, I knew it was some sort of horror/suspense type show with two model-esque dudes toting guns. After joining tumblr, I found out a bit more - primarily that people had a lot of feels for brothers Dean and Sam and their quirky angel buddy, Castiel. So I decided to give the show a try, despite not being a fan of the gory horror genre. I knew Cas wouldn’t be showing up until season four, but somehow I ended up under the impression that once he did show up, he’d be bumming around with the brothers, chilling in the backseat of the Impala, and solving supernatural cases. So when that didn’t exactly happen, I was a bit disappointed (but not much, because WHOA APOCALYPSE YEAH.) There was a brief period during season six where it almost felt like they were just going around, being bros and hunting monsters, but that clearly didn’t last long.

It appears that season eight may finally be granting my wish :D

So, apparently there was some organized Misha Collins-hate going around twitter the other day - which completely and utterly baffles me. I mean, if a person doesn’t like Castiel, fair enough - but to actively hate Misha? How is that even possible?

When I first became acquainted with his acting through Supernatural (though I guess I’d first seen him in Monk, but it’s been years since I saw that episode so I honestly don’t remember his character), he instantly earned a spot on my “favorite actors” list. When I found out more about him as a person and all of the good work he does, he made it onto my “favorite people” list. I mean seriously - he does so much for charity, and seems like a genuinely kindhearted person to boot. What’s not to admire about that?

Keep being awesome, Misha. (And please, Steven Moffat, find a way to cast him in an episode of Doctor Who!)

A gif set that came across my dash earlier reminded me that this scribble was sitting in my WIP folder. I love it when SPN makes geeky references, if you couldn’t tell :P

My head just couldn’t handle any more finals junk, so BAM! Castiel.

Ack, this has been sitting in my WIP folder far too long… came close to scrapping it several times, but I’d already sunk countless hours into it and posted WIPs to twitter, so I figured I’d just finish it up and post it anyway (I’m not even entirely sure it is finished, I’ve been looking at it so long.) I learned from it, at least, and I figure any piece you can learn from isn’t a total loss.

I won’t be able to watch the new episode till after work tomorrow *sobs*, so I spent my day wallowing in feels. Oh Cas ;_;

I’ve been re-watching Pushing Daisies lately, but Supernatural is still firmly planted in my head… as is my need to turn everything into a crossover. I was going to pretty it up a bit, but my computer crashed in a major way and took some of the saved inking along with it, so I abandoned that idea. I’ve got other projects that need the attention more ;D
